So as many of you know, a few of us went down to visit Cody the other day in New York. When we arrived home, I exchanged e-mails with his sister who later forwarded mine on to Cody's aunt. She has been typing updates and e-mailing it out to all the family members so they know his condition as the days go on. I will be posting them from day to day to let you all in on Cody's progress. Here's the first:
Good Evening All,
Another good day. He smiled & puckered up when he saw Lea come in this morning, unprompted!
He is a little frustrated that his body can’t do what he wants. He tries to lift his body off the bed. He’s moving around more, but he’s restrained to prevent him from pulling out any lines. As difficult as it is to witness, it’s a positive thing that he’s frustrated... It means he’s getting stronger.
The Dr. asked him to move various body parts & he did fine. They started a different antibiotic today, in hopes his infections will respond. They just seem to be so stubborn.
They are trying to wean him off the vent, alternating with a CPAP to give his lungs a little push. They’re slowly giving it less and less push. Lea, correct me if I got this wrong.
It’s all good stuff, but it’s hard for Leanne to see him so frustrated. As you can imagine, it’s quite a marathon race emotionally and physically. She & Bob are trying to get a plan in place, and she still needs some answers before she leaves on Saturday. She’s having some difficulty at the prospect of leaving Cody, but she has some business she must take care of.
Thank you for your continued prayers & love, it means so much to everyone. I continue to keep you all in my daily prayers as well.
Let’s help Cody run the race!!
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.
Love to all,
Jeanne
